As this is my first blog post, I thought that the best way to start would in fact be to start at the beginning.
I am Maltese with strong Sicilian ties through my fathers side of the family. As a result I was brought up heavily influenced with all things Italian. From the food, to the language, to Italian fashion and flare; as far as I am concerned the Italians have always got it right.
I was lucky to also have a husband who also shares my passion with Italy and as a result we spend many holidays there in various parts of the country.
In the summer of 2022, having watched on repeat Disney's Luca with our children, we decided that we would take them to try and find "Porto Rosso" and look for sea dragons. As part of my holiday research I came across a small beautiful looking seaside town in Liguria, nestled between the infamous Cinque Terre and also Portofino, called Sestri Levante.
We instantly fell in love with it. It was perfect, beautiful shops, beautiful restaurants and sea and also beautiful people.
It was here that we met Massimo and Eva in their shop and instantly fell in love with what they did and more importantly with how they did it. Their brand Massimo Palomba was something that I felt was not available to people in the UK. The quality of the materials and craftsmanship was so superior compared with many products available in the UK. The real defining factor for me however, was the fact that all their products are only made to order and limited edition. There is no waste, everything is done in a sustainable way and with care and respect for the materials, and it shows.
We also became submerged in the Culti brand which we found in many of the small little hotels where we stayed in and many of the restaurants and bars that we visited. The fragrances were so unique and distinctive that when I returned to the UK I was disappointed that their products were really only available from 2-3 big named stores in London.
I literally wanted to tell everyone about them!
Thanks to the support of my husband who greatly encouraged me to take a huge leap of faith and start Tizzy Loves, I have managed to work with Massimo and Eva and also the Culti brand to select the products which I love and bring them to the UK.
I really hope that you will love them too and get as much enjoyment from them as they have given me.
